Quick and Easy Valentine Recipes

Delicious and Rich Dark Chocolate Cake

Ingredients :

Chocolate Cake :


Flour : 250 gm
Baking Powder : 1/2 tsp
Eggs : 4
Castor Sugar :  250gm
White Butter : 250gm
Cocoa Powder : 1/4 cup
Vanilla essence : 1 tsp


Topping : Hershey's Chocolate Syrup


Method :

  1. Add baking powder to the flour and sieve 2 - 3 times and keep aside.
  2. Break all the eggs in a large bowl and beat till it is frothy
  3. Melt the butter and add to the eggs. 
  4. Add sugar to the above mixture and beat it till it is creamy.
  5. Add the flour mix to the above mixture in small portions at a time and mix well so that no lumps are formed.
  6. When all the flour has been added to the mixture, add the cocoa powder and vanilla essence and mix well.
  7. Grease and line two baking dish with butter paper.
  8. Pour the cake batter equally into the two tins and bake in a hot oven at 200c for 20 minutes or microwave on high for 10 minutes and then reduce the power to 60% and bake for 5 more minutes. When an inserted toothpick comes clean, the cake is done.
  9. Remove from oven and allow the cakes to cool.
  10. Take out the cakes from the baking dish.
  11. Pour the chocolate syrup on one cake to cover it up.
  12. Put the other cake on top of it and cover the entire cake with the chocolate syrup and refrigerate it.
Tip : When baking the cake in microwave,  place a rack and keep the baking dish on top of it because microwave heats from the top.

Ingredients :

Pasta or Macaroni Hot Pot

The below recipe is ideal for a quick yet delicious weekday meal.


Ingredients:

Pasta or macaroni : 1 cup
Capcsicum : 1
Onion : 1 medium
Tomato Ketchup : 4 - 6 Tbsp as per taste
Cheese cubes : 2
Butter : 1 tbsp

Dry Oregano
Salt to taste



Method :
  1. Boil the pasta or macaroni for around 5 minutes.
  2. When cooked, drain the water from them and put some cold water and leave aside.
  3. Roughly chop the onions.
  4. Cut the capcicum into thin rings.
  5. Put the butter in a microwave safe dish and heat it on 80% power for a minute.
  6. Add the onions to it and again heat at 80% power for 2 minutes.
  7. Add the capcicum rings heat at 80% power for another 2 minutes.
  8. Put the pasta or macaroni into this after draining water from them.
  9. Add tomato ketchup, salt, oregano and grated cheese and mix well
  10. Sprinkle some grated cheese on top of the mix and microwave on 80% power for 2 minutes.
  11. Delicious pasta is ready to be served. You can serve it with some garlic bread.
Tip: Add some oil to the butter to prevent it from burning. You can also add some boiled baby corns, sweet corns, mushrooms or chicken to the above as per your taste.

Quick Valentine Pizza



Ingredients:

  • Medium Pizza base : 2
  • Tomato ketchup :4 Tbsp
  • Onion : I medium
  • Capsicum : 1
  • Baby corn : 6
  • Sweet Corn kernels : 1/2 cup
  • Tofu or cottage cheese : 100gm
  • Mozarella cheese
  • Dried Oregano

 Method :


  1. Put tomato ketchup on the pizza base and spread it.
  2. Roughly chop the onion and capsicum.
  3. Boil the baby corns and sweet corn kernels.
  4. Cut the tofu or cottage cheese into one inch pieces.
  5. Slit the babycorns vertically.
  6. Arrange the onions, capsicum, baby corns, sweet corn kernels and tofu or cottage cheese on the piece.
  7. Top it up with the grated cheese.
  8. Microwave it for 2 - 3 minutes.
  9. Sprinkle some oregano on it.
  10. Cut the pizza base into four pieces and serve.
  11. Repeat the above with the other pizza base.
Note : You can also add mushrooms or chicken to the above pizza as per your taste.

Red Velvet Cake

Ingredients :

Flour : 250 gm
Baking Powder : 1/2 tsp
Eggs : 4

White Butter : 250gm
Red Colour : 1 tsp

Vanilla essence : 1 tsp


Topping : Whipped fresh cream




Method :



  1. Add baking powder to the flour and sieve 2 - 3 times and keep aside.
  2. Break all the eggs in a large bowl and beat till it is frothy
  3. Melt the butter and add to the eggs. 
  4. Add sugar to the above mixture and beat it till it is creamy.

Strawberries dipped in Chocolate Syrup



Ingredients :

  • Fresh Strawberries
  • Chocolate Syrup
Method :


  1. Dip the fresh strawberries in chocolate syrup and refrigerate.
  2. Delicious chocolate coated strawberries are ready to serve.
Note : You can serve the strawberries with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

  • Whipped cream
  • Castor Sugar 

Method :
  1. Slice the fresh strawberries.
  2. Put some whipped cream in a bowl.
  3. Arrange the strawberries on top of it.
  4. Sprinkle some castor sugar on top of the strawberries and refrigerate.
  5. Serve chilled. 
 Note : You can also use vanilla ice cream in place of whipped cream.
