Peas Kachori

To Serve : 4

Ingredients :

  • Peas : 500g
  • Refined flour : 2 cups
  • Wheat flour : 1 cup
  • Roasted Cumin powder : 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder : a pinch
  • Chopped ginger : 1/2 tsp
  • Green chillies : 2
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil to fry

Method :

  1. Grind the peas along with the ginger and green chillies using very less water, the mixture should be thick.
  2. Heat around 2 Tbsp of oil in a wok and put the peas mixture in it. Add the roasted cumin powder, turmeric powder and salt to it. Cook the mixture till it is dry.
  3. Mix the refined flour and the wheat flour. Add around 1 Tbsp of salt and 3 tbsp of oil to it and knead it into a dough using as much water as required. The dough should not be too stiff or too sticky.
  4. Leave the dough covered for half an hour.
  5. Make a small balls out of the dough.
  6. Roll each ball slightly. Put 1 tsp of the peas mixture into it and close it by pulling all the edges together.
  7. Then roll the filled balls carefully using a rolling pin and deep fry them like puris.
  8. Serve hot.
Tip : While rolling the filled balls, put some oil on the balls and on the rolling pin. Do not use flour.
