- Peas : 500g
- Refined flour : 2 cups
- Wheat flour : 1 cup
- Roasted Cumin powder : 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder : a pinch
- Chopped ginger : 1/2 tsp
- Green chillies : 2
- Salt to taste
- Oil to fry
Method :
- Grind the peas along with the ginger and green chillies using very less water, the mixture should be thick.
- Heat around 2 Tbsp of oil in a wok and put the peas mixture in it. Add the roasted cumin powder, turmeric powder and salt to it. Cook the mixture till it is dry.
- Mix the refined flour and the wheat flour. Add around 1 Tbsp of salt and 3 tbsp of oil to it and knead it into a dough using as much water as required. The dough should not be too stiff or too sticky.
- Leave the dough covered for half an hour.
- Make a small balls out of the dough.
- Roll each ball slightly. Put 1 tsp of the peas mixture into it and close it by pulling all the edges together.
- Then roll the filled balls carefully using a rolling pin and deep fry them like puris.
- Serve hot.
